NOTABLE WORK EXPERIENCE

RAI FILM FESTIVAL 2019 - FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER/PHOTOGRAPHER

March 2019

I volunteered for a week with the Royal Anthropological Institute to help out with their film festival based in Bristol. I worked for every day while the festival was running, plus an induction day. My role consisted of helping the festival-goers with any queries they had about the festival and producing a considerate amount of photographs to be posted on the festival blog.

During my time at the festival, I engaged in face to face interactions with customers in a high energy environment where I also utilised my own equipment to produce a large proportion of the photographs that were desired by the festival manager. I also had a hand in organising the other photographers to cover the majority of the events and talks scheduled.

STRENGTH FROM WITHIN - VIDEO PRODUCER

September 2018 - Present

Strength From Within is a non-profit organization that aims to educate and empower underprivileged students by introducing them to new opportunities. My role is to lead the management of their video series 'Help 50', where I shot and edited the series for this term. On top of this, I structured the template of the videos, scripted the content, scout for shooting locations, and encourage the confidence of those who were reluctant to be on camera.

As a result, we have achieved up to 2.5K views on some of our videos. And through feedback, we have adapted and streamlined its shoot style and edited content to be able to release them more efficiently.

SOUTH DOWNS LEISURE - HOLIDAY ACTIVITY ASSISTANT

July 2017 - December 2018

I worked with my peers to organize activities for children between the ages of 5-12 years old. These activities are mainly sports/teamwork based and the job entailed of us watching over the group of children at all times. The opportunity to work was only available during the holidays, but it was a fun and enlightening experience as well as an enervative one.

This job always kept me on my feet, both physically and creatively. I had to handle disputes between young children while maintaining a lively and positive atmosphere. An atmosphere which we created from getting the children involved in enjoyable tasks and affirming a position of authority.

TK MAXX - SALES ASSISTANT

September 2015 - January 2017

I dealt with a constant flow of customer transactions; independently handling customer concerns as I assisted customers with their shopping experience. At times, I was put in charge of certain areas of the store where I would look after the store's 'aesthetics', and answer customer queries.

From this job, I learned how to deal with a variety of people. I began to speak more clearly and confidently while listening intently to others in an understanding and productive manner. This was also an experience where working as a team was essential to maintain a high standard. This is something I am always keen on implementing into my filmmaking, as I have found that there is a massive difference when you have people available to help.
